The link to download 53271 rev. of the Pin for Mac OS X (http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/pintool-downloads/) actually points to version 55492 (http://software.intel.com/sites/default/files/article/256671/pin-2.12-55942-clang.3.0-mac.tar.gz). The correct one is http://software.intel.com/sites/landingpage/pintool/downloads/pin-2.12-53271-clang.3.0-ia32_intel64-mac.tar.gz .
I'm sorry if this was already reported, but I couldn't find a reasonable way to check that.
