Portrait mode, Intel GM915

Hi
Why is the graphic performance for Intel GM915 so much lower in portrait mode than in landscape mode?
I have tried different versions of the driver - some are worse than others but all have significant lower performance in portrait mode. Why is that so?
Is it possible to get a driver optimized for portrait performance?
