SCIF DMA not asynchronous on the device

scif_writeto/readfrom is not asynchronous for me on the device, no matter what flags I use or how much data I transfer. However, transfers initiated from the host are asynchronous up to a certain transfer size. Is this normal behavior? I've tested this with two very different systems, both running Linux and MPSS 2.1.6720-21.

Do scif_readfrom/writeto block execution independently of flags?

Or asyncronous scif_readfrom/writeto do not overlap?
