It has pretty good speed and graphics, BUT, i can not handle more then 3 people on my screen or i'll crash, I have the 965 chipset with the 965 chipset graphic accelerator, running at 32 i believe. It has its moments where i can do anything with out fear of crashing, but most of the time i fail. And crash. Is their a better accelerator i can use to hold Second life better?
Thank you for reading and helping me. ^_^

I've lost the attribution of this, but it works for me o my Fujitsu T2010 with the965(up to a point). I still crash from time to time, frequently after a teleport. This is with the 15.7 driver.
----------
While I probably would not recommend the X61 as a great Second Life platform, I have succeeded in making it work. The X61 uses the Intel GM965 chipset with the X3100 Graphics Media Accelerator. I am running 32-bit Vista and the latest Intel beta drivers (15.6b). The fix will require you to track down the settings.xml file and modify it. Although it is unlikely that you will do anything harmful to your computer or Vista, all of the usual do-so-at-your-own-risk warnings apply.
Out of the box, Second Life will allow you to log in but will crash immediately before displaying the world. The first problem is that the OpenGL driver claims to support object occlusion but it doesn't (at least, not properly). The trick is to turn off Object Occlusion.
Now we come to the second problem. Object Occlusion is an option in the Debug menus which you can't get to until you are in-world. Fortunately, this option is stored in the settings.xml file. Once Second Life has started it creates a settings.xml file in the Users
Open settings.xml with notepad and paste the two lines into the

I was planning to "upgrade" to 965. .But after reading your posts, I am now having second thoughts. I guess I have to think about that again. Thanks for sharing your experiences here.

AppData folders. Can someone point me in the right direction? With XP I did modify as needed and cleared that darn hidden cache as well, but I am thoroughly lost in Vista as to where it is located.
