We run a very large system of fortran dlls called by a VB "front-end". We have recently switched from Windows 95 to Windows 2000. When we use the performance monitor to compare fortran dlls' speed we see that the time spent in most functions are comparable except for one library function "_for_close (dforrt.dll)". In my test run it is hit 24,000 times and uses 7.04 Sec in Win 95 but 14.69 Sec in Win 2000. I haven't been able to find out why - does anyone know what is going on?
