Unable to install HAXM, VT active in bios, CrystalCPUID attached

I have tried installing Intel HAXM in my system but was unable to do that as it says VT-x not enabled but when i looked in bios it is enabled. My processor is intel core2 quad q9550 with windows 7 professional installed.

FYI :- I was previously running bluestacks android emulator on the same machine.

Several things to check

1. XD (NX)  bit is also enabled:  bcdedit /set nx AlwaysOn

2. HyperVisor is off (to turn off for boot) bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off

3. Make sure Avast hasn't turned on hyper-V.  
     Disable "Enable hardware-assisted virtualization" under: Settings > Troubleshooting. Restart the PC and run HAXM installation again

My processor does not support HyperVisor, and it is visible in the screenshot(CPUID.png) that i have attached also i dont have avast installed on my system. Still i have done the steps recommended by you but yet i am getting the same message.

I tried to install HAXM in my Laptop and tells me the same error (Annex printscreen) I need to install to use the Android Debug Studio I have Avast but I try to install the HAXM having it off and nothing. I Try performing the procedure outlined in the forum and continued with the same error could help me? I urge install it for my thesis project, Thank you for your attention

The tips I know about are:
1. Turn on NX/XD bit - AS ADMIN (so command prompt windows header will say Administrator: )      bcdedit /set nx AlwaysOn
2. Turn off Hyper-V - AS ADMIN -   bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off
These must show successful completion or they have not been set.
3. If using Avast, disable "Enable hardware-assisted virtualization" under: Settings > Troubleshooting.
For ALL of the above, you must reboot the PC .
4. Use the standalone HAXM installer from this website.

After trying everything, I tried resetting bios to factory settings, thus disabling the VT-X , but somehow my windows crashed and had to reinstall it. After that tried enabling the Vt-X and installing the HAXM, finally succeeding this time.

In short, i was able to install it but i don't know who did the trick , resetting bios and again enabling it or reinstalling the OS.

So, I hope you must gve a try to resetting the bios to default options and then enabling it again, if all fail and still you wish to install the same, you may try reinstalling the OS (i hope somewhere my os was not allowing the same).

Solution: 
In my case, for Sony Vaio, Avast, 64 bit Windows 7 OS. 

I had enabled virtualization in BIOS and while installing Intel HAXM independently, it was throwing the error that VT-x is not enabled. Tried many things and finally it worked. Here are the steps I did,

0. (IMP Step) Enabled Hardware Virtualization in BIOS. (in advanced tab)
1.  XD (NX)  bit is also enabled:  bcdedit /set nx AlwaysOn 
     Output : The operation completed successfully.
2.  HyperVisor is off (to turn off for boot) bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off
     Output : The operation completed successfully. 
   (Although there was no Hypervisor on my system in the turn on/off windows feature)
3. (IMP step) in Avast->Settings->Troubleshooting
    Uncheck "Enable hardware-assisted virtualization" & "Enable avast self-defense module"
    Also had unchecked "Enable rootkit scan on system startup" and "Enable raw disk access during Avast boot-time scan", But it may not be required. 
4. Installed HAXM using standalone installer. Worked this time without any errors.

This took some time to figure out. Wasted almost 2 days on it. Hopefully it helps others.

Now it runs the emulator on Android Studio without any issues.

I have done all those things and I still get the same VT-x error ... I am using Windows 8... Is there other way to install the HAXM?

Hello,

I hope you have disabled hypervisor in windows 8.

In my case as i was unable to find the problem, the only option left was to reinstall windows .So did i and yes it worked fine.

So what i hope is there was some error with windows not updating data from BIOS. This may be the last option for you.
