Greetings from Intel Developer Services Support.
It looks like you're referring to our "Enriching Rich Client Communications with the Microsoft* Real-Time Communications API" piece: http://www.intel.com/cd/ids/developer/asmo-na/eng/microprocessors/ia32/pentium4/hyperthreading/43672.htm
We'll forward your question to the author and let you know what we find out.

Here is the response we received from the author:

The AVDConf2.exe was tested using Microsofts Voice Communication Server (or SIP Server) Beta 2. The protocol between the Beta and RTM should be the same. In the early testing of AVDConf2.exe, I noticed there was a difference in the return code and protocol scheme. A couple of things you will want to try when registering with a non-Microsoft SIP server:

  1. Test the SIP Server registration with AVDConf2.exe on both ends.

  2. Check the control packets to make sure the messages are what the application is expecting. If not, you may need to find out what messages the server is passing to the client.

I will also test this on Microsofts SIP server to make sure the protocols have not changed.
