I see that the i7-965 processor supports Intel Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d) but the i7-975 does not. Was VT-d removed from the newer i7-975processor? Was there some sort of perfomance degredation or compromise in order to run that CPU at its higher clock speed which necessitated the removal of the VT-d feature?
Or is Intel's documentation incorrect. If anyone has the i7-975 CPU can you run one of those CPU utitlites (Intel or third party) that shows whether that processor supportsVT-d? Thanks!
Also, are any of these processors "unlocked" where the frequencies can be adjusted in the BIOS with latest Asus motherboards forusing the latest high speed DDR3 memory such as 2000 MHz (PC3-16000)or 2133 MHz (PC3-17000)?
