As softwaremanufacturerwe use in aproduct for windows the DirectX9 Video interface.
On a Vista PC (ASUS) with installed Intel 82945G Express Chipset controller we noted a flashiness issue after automatical installation of the newest driver by vistaupdate.
The display of WMF videos are unintended rotated by 180 and the frame size is reduced to video size (no stretching). Other video kinds are not affected by this issue.
The problem occurs doubtless with version 7.14.10.1437 of the 82945G Express Chipset Family driver. After reinstallation of version 7.14.10.1103 the effect disappeared.
The newest version 7.14.10.1504 shows the issue too.
Because we are a software manufacturer we need more backgroud details about this issue. Is there a possibility to control the rotation of video frames in DirectX9 which we have not correctly respected?
Thank you

Christoph,
We haven't noticed a problem like that. What application are you using that exhibits the issue?
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris
It's an own written application in Delphi2007 by using of the DSPack open source library for DirectX9. See more on http://www.schneider-infosys.ch/en/sw_pp-scheduler.asp
Now I'm trying to write a small test applicationwithout using the DSPack libraryfor checking, if the problems is locatedin this libray. WhenI can show that the problem still exists, I willattach the code lines of the test application.
By the way the media player does not shows the issue but the media player on Vista bases on DirectX10.
Thank you

Sounds good. If it's a full-screen application, make sure the mode you set is not the "rotated" one. That can lead to the screen being upside-down when you're not expecting it.

Hi Chris
Can you tell me more details about this "rotated" mode? In the interface of IVideoWindowI can notfind asuch mode.
Or do you mean with "rotated mode" the settings of the graphic card within the windows control panel>display>settings>advanced? With this setting only the whole screen can be rotated and not only the display of WMV Video output. This issue rotates only WMV video output. AVI output and other window drawings are not affected.
Thank you

Christoph,
I was talking about the whole screen. If it's just the video window itself, then that's not the issue.
