1. We have essentially one developer and a automated build. Is Getting 2 named license enough?

2. if the developer needs to work on both Linux and window is one name license going to work for he/she in both platform?

3. whats the expiry date? i see a 3year license. but nothing is said about the standard license.

Hi Chin,

Re. 1.: The license policy for a named-user licene is that it can be used by one individual person only once at a time on a system. Installations can be done on up to 3 systems. If the automated build system uses a license that runs concurrently with the work of the developer than a second license must be in place. However, according to the end-user license agreement, there must be an individul owner of the build system as a named-user license cannot be shared by several users. So if there is only one developer who runs a build system in parallel to his/her development work then 2 named-user licenses are sufficient. Alternatively, a 2-users floating license could be used since there is no restriction regarding user base. Any developer can use a license seat and run the build environement then.

Re. 2.: A license seat counts per OS. That means that for Windows and Linux targets development 2 product licenses for Windows and Linux respectively must be in place, even if used by the same person.

Re. 3.: Academic and commercial licenses have permanent runtime and 1 year of support after product purchase, by default. There are special licenses with 3 years support and there is a volume license program with a total of 3 years support runtime.

I hope this helps. If you have further questions, don't hesitate to follow up.

Regards, Hubert
