Ive noticed different Vista WEI (Windows Experience Index) on different laptops. For example, a Vaio NR has a better WEI (3.5) than a Vaio CR (3.2), but the CR has a bigger cpu, faster bus, etc.
Does anyone knows why does it happen? The CR is using the lastest avaliable drivers, while the NR is using stock drivers (I don't remember the version).
Edit: both laptops has 2GB of RAM.
Thanks,
Mauricio.

Can you give more details here?? Tell us the system specs for each system and maybe links to the scores too. And Vista WEI is not really a good indicator for graphics performance by itself. You gotta look at the graphics portion of the WEI. Vista WEI score tests CPU/Memory/HDD/Graphics and just outputs the lowest score out of all of them as your score.
There is actually two versions of X3100, but both NR and CR uses GM965 chipset. GM965 chipset has 500MHz core X3100 and GL960 has 400MHz core along with lower memory speed support.

I forgot to mention, I was talking about the graphics WEI. The NR has a T5450 (1.66Ghz, 667 Bus, 2MB Cache) and the CR has a T7100 (1.8Ghz, 800Mhz bus, 2MB).
Both laptops has the GM965 chipset and 2GB of RAM.
I don't have the NR at hand, so I can't send you the score.
NR Specs: (in spanish, but I think you'll understand it)

Weird. They both use identical chipsets and the GM965 only supports up to DDR2-667, no faster. CR should in theory be faster. It could be the drivers though. You might have heard certain apps like older games running faster on older drivers. Maybe its same with Vista graphics score.

I guess you're right, I shouldn't trust the vista graphics score. Thanks for your answers.
