Hello Intel Engineers!
I want to appreciate your effort for doing a great job after taking over from appmobi about two years ago.
Meanwhile, I want you to make this XDK very stable like conventional IDEs.
There are bugs in your XDK that are related to the embedded Brackets Editor and some other internal plugins.
At times this forces the XDK to shut down whenever the "Bug" icon is clicked on during an emulation.
The saddest part of it is that restarting the XDK or even the system doesn't solve this issue at times.
I have experienced this issue on several occasions and at the moment, I am about to uninstall it and do a fresh installation.
I am using a Windows 8.1 system

Sorry for the inconvenience Michael. I have escalated your issue to the Emulate Tab team members. We hope to provide a fix to this issue in an upcoming release.

Thanks.
Please try and add the crashing of apps on Windows Phone to your escalation.
Windows 8/WP8.1 apps built with Intel XDK are crashing after the splash screen is displayed.
I built the same apps with another IDE and they worked perfectly.
Thanks.

Michael, can you provide more details about the other build that you did that allowed your Win Phone app to work? This would be very useful information. If you could provide a copy of the project (ZIP of the ENTIRE project directory) and send me a PM with a link to this app, along with info regarding the alternate build process:
- which version of CLI was used for the alternate build
- what tools were used for the alternate build (Visual Studio? just CLI? Phonegap CLI? other?)
- did you change the code in any way between alternate build and XDK build for Win Phone
- any other info that you believe may be useful

Hi Michael,
I am trying to investigate your issue with the debug button. You said:

At times this forces the XDK to shut down whenever the "Bug" icon is clicked on during an emulation.
When you say "internal plugins", do you have some particular plugins in mind? If so, which ones? Also, does anything bad happen in the editor because of the plugins, or is everything OK until you click the bug button?
The XDK (and the emulator) run in a browser-like tool called node-webkit. Crashes in the debugger look like emulator bugs, but they are almost always bugs in node-webkit. It's possible your problem with the debugger is related to something unusual about your application, or it could be related to an interaction with an editor plugin. And of course, it is always possible that something is wrong with the installation, in which case uninstalling and reinstalling the XDK should fix it. Do you see this problem with other applications using the same XDK version? How about with the same application when the editor plugins are disabled?
Crashes in node-webkit are a little different than crashes in other parts of the XDK, but both should be reported to Intel with a crash log. It would help if I could get my hands on the specific crash log that corresponds to your issue. When node-webkit crashes, I'm not sure whether you get prompted for your email address and a description of what you were doing when the crash occurred, as you are when the crash occurs outside of node-webkit. If you didn't get prompted for this information, please try to reproduce the crash one more time and add a comment to this post indicating the exact time of the crash. This should allow me to figure out which crash log is yours.
Thanks,
Julian
