Can you tell me the performance increase between Visual Fortran 6.0 and 6.5 for both a pentium III (800 Mhz) and IV (1.4 Ghz) ? A quantitative answer similar to the graphic on your web site illustrating the increase between Visual Fortran 6.1 and 6.5 using the 1 Ghz chip would be helpful. If that is too specific, can you tell me the difference between 6.0 and 6.5 for 1 Ghz?

We saw about a 10-15% improvement, on average, between 6.0 and 6.1 for all processor types. As usual, "your mileage may vary". We would recommend the AMD Athlon over the Pentium 4 at this time - in our experience, and those of many users (not just Fortran users), Athlon delivers higher real-world performance for MUCH less money (and doesn't require expensive RDRAM.)
