details of testing machines in competition

What are parameters of machines which will be used in competition judging? For example what is the screen resolution?

I would assume that the app should be able to work in a variety of screen sizes.

You could use a library, Qt for example, to get that information easily in your app if for some reason you need to know the actual screen resolution.
