I'd go with

7C 2E 90 A0 60 1A 1E 40 30 20 36 00 B1 0E 11 00 00 1A

I replaced the last 00 (which was clearly bogus) with 1A. If you get flicker, vary that last hex number from 18, 1A, 1C, 1E.

Glad it worked for you. If the flicker's tolerable, I guess that's okay, but you should probably be able to resolve it with the slightly different sync (1A, 1E, 1C, 18). Again, glad to hear it worked.

I have a Starlogic 20.1" LCD. It supports upto 1680x1050 resolution.
Thevideo card on my Dell Latitude D410 is 915GM/GMS, 910GML Family.

Here is my MonInfo results

I believe my DTD is
64 19 00 40 41 00 26 30 18 88 36 00 F6 B8 00 00 00 19

And since I want 1680x1050. So I changed the DTD a little bit.
64 19 90 40 61 1A 26 40 18 88 36 00 F6 B8 00 00 00 19

But unfortunately, I got out of sync/blank screen problem.

I couldn't find modeline info on this monitor on google. But I do have a linux box that works flawless with this monitor (i.e.I can do 1680x1050). Is there anything else I can try??

FYI, the Intel driver didn't work for me. I am using the latest video driver from Dell. Ver. 6.14.10.4693. (9/15/2006). and the file I had to modify is ialmnt5.inf. But everything looks exactly the same as the other link described.

Check out your xorg.conf file on your Linux box... does it report a Modeline for 1680x1050? Also, even if the Modeline isn't present in your xorg.conf, you might be able to find what it's using in the X logs (forgetting the exact path and filename).

archibael, thanks for your reply.

From another thread "945GM not working with my 1680x1050 monitor" I found a DTD string that works with the 20.1" starlogic (1680x1050@60Hz)
21 3990 30 62 1A 27 40 68 B0 36 00 DA 28 11 00 00 1C37 01
(You were the one provided the DTD. thanks again)

Acutally after reading that thread, I realized that the EDTD data that I reported was my laptop's monitor's. And the starlogic doesn't have the EDTD. Luckily there is something that could work!!

In case someone may be inerested. This is my xorg.conf. I actually entered them myself according to the spec listed in the user manual.

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor0"
ModelName "StarLogic 1680x1050"
HorizSync 31.5 - 80.0
VertRefresh 50.0 - 75.0
Option "dpms"
EndSection

But it seems I need more information in order to generate the DTD.

I found this in /var/log/Xorg.0.log

(**) NV(0): *Default mode "1680x1050": 146.2 MHz, 65.3 kHz, 60.0 Hz
(II) NV(0): Modeline "1680x1050" 146.25 1680 1784 1960 2240 1050 1053 1059 1089 -hsync +vsync

I guess this is what you are talking about. I will try to see if I can come up with a better DTD for my monitor. This is really cool smiley [:-)]

Glad it worked out for you. Just a point: the Modeline you came up with from your Xorg.0.log file is identical to the DTD I supplied in that other thread, so you were good to go either way. :)

Had fun trying to get 1680x1050 resolution on my EEE Pc. It has Intel 915GM 915 GML chip, and even recent drivers does not support this resolution. PowerStrip software can help you, as it did for me http://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/ps.shtm * right click on tray icon->display profile->configure * advanced timing options * custom resolutions * select 1680x1050p(ACD), it works for my BENQ G2000WB * click add new resolution now this resolution appears on in your desktop settings! Just to help you if having trouble, I used the following timing settings: Horizontal: * scan rate 64,845 kHz * active 1680 pixels * front porch 48 pixels * sync width 32 pixels * back porch 80 pixels * total 1840 pixels Vertical: * refresh rate: 60,042 kHz * active 1050 pixels * front porch 3 lines * sync width 6 lines * back porch 21 lines * total 1080 lines
