"license file is invalid" error for C++ Composer 2013 Update 4

I just downloaded the latest update to C++ Composer XE 2013 and I'm having trouble with the installation.  The installer didn't pick up the existing activation information (which is unusual) so I chose "alternative activation" and "license file" which resulted in "license file is invalid".  The registration center says this license is valid until 5/15/2014.  Any suggestions on what to try next?

Ron,

Your old subscription ended just before the release of the Compsoer XE Update 4. This is the reason why the insatller didn't use the existing activation. Using the license file may have failed since the license file you got may have been the old one. There was (and apparently is still) a bug where after product renewals old license files were sent.
Please use activation mode using the serial number. This should update your activation and allow to install the Composer XE Update 4.
