Debug Register at kernel address causing kernel crash

I am trying to monitor kernel memory access(RW) using Debug register. For some kernel addresses, it might be causing a kernel crash. I was wondering, is there any restricted/reserved/protected/unmapped memory region that cannot be monitored using Debug registers which might result in a system crash if not handled properly? One point to be noted that if I monitor userspace addresses through DR, it never gives me system crash.
