A new release of the Intel Performance Counter Monitor (Intel PCM) has been posted that supports Intel Xeon E7 series (Intel microarchitecture code name Westmere-EX) and core performance metrics of 2nd generation Intel CoreTM processor family (Intel microarchitecture code name Sandy Bridge).
Intel Performance Counter Monitorprovides sample C++ routines to access the PMUs in the core and uncore of the latest Intel Xeon and Core processors. This abstraction layer for key metrics like clockticks, instructions retired, cache misses, and memory and QPI traffic allows to easily integrate PMU access intoapplications. Furthermore tools are provided to print and graph the counters in real-time.
