Hi Experts,
is it possible to do the downgrade of firmware version?
I have tried with using .BIN file also using IDRAC from DELL server approach.
As i have tried do the downgrade of firmware version from 24.x to 23.x , 22.x, 19.x and 18.x but its not doing the downgrade and give below error message:
dmesg -T | grep -i i40e
[Mon Dec 15 06:56:40 2025] i40e: loading out-of-tree module taints kernel.
[Mon Dec 15 06:56:40 2025] i40e: module verification failed: signature and/or required key missing - tainting kernel
[Mon Dec 15 06:56:40 2025] i40e: externally supported module, setting X kernel taint flag.
[Mon Dec 15 06:56:40 2025] i40e: Intel(R) 40-10 Gigabit Ethernet Connection Network Driver - version 2.22.18
journalctl -b | grep firmware
kernel: Spectre V2 : Enabling Restricted Speculation for firmware calls
kernel: GHES: APEI firmware first mode is enabled by APEI bit and WHEA _OSC.
kernel: megaraid_sas 0000:03:00.0: firmware supports msix : (96)
kernel: megaraid_sas 0000:03:00.0: Current firmware supports maximum commands: 928 LDIO threshold: 0
kernel: megaraid_sas 0000:03:00.0: firmware crash dump : no
kernel: megaraid_sas 0000:03:00.0: Max firmware commands: 927 shared with default hw_queues = 40 poll_queues 0
