Hi all,

I am using  Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1650 CPU for experiments and I want to read the events micro ops retired and L2 cache misses.

After looking at the software development manual http://download.intel.com/products/processor/manual/325384.pdf I saw that the events would be

present under section 19.11 PENTIUM® 4 AND INTEL® XEON® PROCESSOR PERFORMANCEMONITORING EVENTS.

But I am not able to see the event code which I can write to the counters to get the value of the events. Can anybody help me with this?

Thank You

Hello gokussj9,

This chip is an ivybridge-EP chip. You can look at section 19.3 of volume 3 of the SDM

Section 19.3 is PERFORMANCE MONITORING EVENTS FOR 3RD GENERATION INTEL®CORE™PROCESSORS.

Table 19-5 shows the events.

What tool are you wanting to use to collect the events?
