7260 ac, missing Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator device, code 10 & 43 [pic] [updated]

Well, I had this card recently, the wifi part works a wonder, but the bluetooth never functions. After all proper wiring and driver installations, the bluetooth device shows up in my Device Manager by the name "Intel Wireless Bluetooth", not "Bluetooth 4.0 +HS".

Windows reports error codes 10 and 43 for this card, and I dont get "Microsoft Bluetooth Device Enumerator" device at all.

Further more, these two tabs give empty information:

All driver versions are the latest. My system is Windows7 64bit

My installed driver versions are:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloads/eula/24679/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-for-Bluetooth-technology-for-Windows-7-64-bit-WP-?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/24679/eng/WP-BT_17.1.1411.01_s64.exe WP-BT_17.1.1411.01_s64

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloads/eula/24652/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-Windows-7-?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/24652/eng/Wireless_17.14.0_Ds32.exe Wireless_17.14.0_Ds32

also tried:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloads/eula/23451/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-for-Bluetooth-technology-for-Windows-7-?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/23451/eng/BT_3.1.1311_s32.exe BT_3.1.1311_s32

Update: title updated.

Update 2: Someone suggests this maybe an engineering sample card from some dishonest seller , not the final version, as evidenced in the TA number (G86254-001).

The engineering sample is said to have some problems with the bluetooth functionality.

So dear Intel dev, can you confirm this is an engineering sample with faulty bluetooth? This could save me all the trouble with the drivers.

Updates3: Unofficial confirmation listed below

Current Solution: It's a hardware problem. Change your card. Awaiting further comments from Intel.

I have exactly the same problem, but only with error code 43.

And, in addition, the wifi card disappears after every wake up from sleep.

My laptop is an k53sv from Asus and i bought the card on amazon, but it came from Hong Kong directly.

As soon as i can, i will post the number on the card to know if it's an engineering sample too.

I just open the laptop to take a photo of the card, and i noted that it is the same TA number than the one from Octf: G86254-001

Maybe it is a faulty batch or something like that.

Running busy lately

Until intel gives words, here I offer my UNOFFICIAL confirmation that TA G86254-001 is faulty.

Basically, I got myself a newer one with TA# H42623-002, all problems zap away: bluetooth works properly, weird antenna issues gone * (not stated in OP).

I also found out these TA numbers are faulty with various problems:

G86254-00x, G86255-00x, G86603-00x

After further research, I can speculate that If your TA# is "below" G94295-003, there is a high possibility that you've got a faulty one, especially when your card is shipped from China, Hongkong and South Korea.

The things still bug me are that I dont have Bluetooth "4.0" displayed anywhere (missing bluetooth version number). And, i got "Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator" but no "Microsoft Bluetooth LE Enumerator".

Intel, is this intended?

My current bluetooth driver is : https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloads/eula/24679/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-for-Bluetooth-technology-for-Windows-7-64-bit-WP-?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/24679/eng/WP-BT_17.1.1411.01_s64.exe WP-BT_17.1.1411.01_s64

*the antenna issue with G86254-001: [on desktop machine]. 1. If no antenna attached, 60%-strength wifi signal can still be received; but after connecting to a wifi, internet connection is not available (big yellow triangle exclamation mark on wifi icon). 2. if the antenna is attached, internet connection only works when the antenna points at certain direction, despite the fact the received signal strength is always 100% .

When I use H4263-002, no such problems.

So basically I need to return the wifi card to amazon, and wait another 15 days for a new one, hoping not to be a faulty one?

Is there any chance that intel could change this one, directly with a good one?

Hello geoniko,

We would like to inform you that Intel does not sell products directly to end users. All Intel® Products can be found and bought through our legal and official resellers and Amazon is not one of them.

If you wish to have access to a list of Intel® Products resellers please access the following link and make sure to select your region: https://www-ssl.intel.com/content/www/us/en/intelligent-systems/intelligent-systems-distributors.html Intel® Authorized Distributors of Embedded Products

*Intel does not support integration (which is the replacement of the original wireless card for another one) either, so we highly recommend that you contact your computer manufacturer before such procedure as they are the ones entitled to provide you a list of validated, tested and certified adapters that is compatible with your system. Furthermore, Intel® Wireless Adapters for laptops are meant to be installed by the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) technicians on certified systems only. @geoniko: I'd say if you want to be sure, why not just buy, for example, Gigabyte's GC-WB867D-I. It's basically the same thing, but guaranteed to be a working chip.

Hello geoniko,

This kind of error 10 or 43 usually occurs when the original card is replaced for another one not meant to be installed in a specific system. Did the original adapter came with Bluetooth? We know that this Asus* model usually come with a Intel® Centrino N-100 or an Atheros* adapter that may not support Bluetooth originally. If the system was not meant to have Bluetooth capabilities installing an adapter that has Bluetooth* may never work. In cases like that, the best option would be to contact your computer manufacturer for further assistance.

Mine came with the Intel® Centrino N-100, and I'm searching if it have bluetooth conectivity, but apparently it doesn't.

So maybe they didn't wire completely the pci slot on my laptop model to save costs. Some time ago I asked them if I could upgrade my wifi card to AC, and they answered that I didn't have any problem, pity that i didn't ask for bluetooth.

The weird thing is that my asus software can turn off and on the bluetooth, but i didnt try it before.

Hello Octf,

Regarding the picture of the card you have showed us here we would like to inform you that this card is an OEM's and therefore, it has specific electrical configurations that might affect using it in a desktop board. It is not an engineering sample. You may try a full power cycle as it has been reported to resolve the issue. You can also try the following:

1 - Go to Device Manager >>> Network Adapters >>> Select the adapter and right click on it.

2 - Select Properties and from the dialog box that pops up, select the tab that says Power Management and check the option that says: Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

I see, aleki. Tried that, doesn't work for me. Since I've already returned the old one, i cannot perform further tests now.

Anyway, do you have any idea about the missing bluetooth version number and Bluetooth LE enumerator?

Hello mikulik86,

It is hard to say whether it is legitimate or not by only looking at a picture. However, We are going to take this opportunity to clarify to you that Intel does not sell wireless adapters to end users because all of our wireless adapters are to be installed by a computer manufacturer such as Dell* HP*, Acer*, Lenovo*... etc. As they customize the card in order to be compatible with their system. This is explained in further details here: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/cs-011644.htm Intel® Wi-Fi Products — Regulatory Information Regarding Hardware Installation or Upgrade - Amazon is not one of our authorized resellers. You are welcome to contact our Contact Center either by phone or chat depending on the region you are by accessing this link: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/contactsupport Contact Support

Hello Mikulik86,

On our best effort to help you we always recommend that you should always check with your OEM before purchasing an internal wireless adapter from any source to confirm the following:

1 - That it is supported by your particular laptop and the OEM allows it (i.e. won't void the warranty and is on the white list as a tested adapter).

2 - How to properly integrate it. (Done by the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) technicians only.

3 - To find out if there are any known issues in performing the upgrade (BIOS, software/drivers, settings?).

*When you buy a card in this circumstances, you are running the risk of the card being not supported and/or being not compatible with your system and any damage caused will not be of our responsibility as we do not support integrations.

Yes, I get it. We shouldn't do home-made customizations to our laptops and then complain about incompatibility issues. Because those components are not as standardized as desktop PC components.

But who would buy whole new laptop just because of better Wi-Fi adapter...?

Newer mind. I only wanted to ask if Intel did release revised version of this adapter. Simple yes or no answer. I'm sure You have the resources and access to find that out...
