Good morning. I have a Fujitsu Lifebook A555 laptop with this Wi-Fi module. According to the specifications, it has 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, but in my case, it doesn't appear; only 2.4GHz is listed.

Sorry, that's not the case. You are likely confusing this part with the Wireless-AC 7265 version. Your module's model number is '7265NGW BN', whereas the Wireless-AC 7265 module's model number is simply '7265NGW'. I have attached the Product Brief for both modules, which details what each can (and cannot) do.

The Wireless-N 7265 module indeed supports up to 300Mb/s 2.4GHz networking.
In order to activate this capability, you need to have certain versions of the Wireless (and Bluetooth) drivers (more current driver packages do not support this module; do not attempt to install them). Now, since Intel does not host these drivers any longer, I have a share that provides the final versions of these drivers. Use this link: https://1drv.ms/f/s!AtacZBU04mo-j-tQ34BdSDv6y1BFsg?e=7gn50T to access this share. Subfolders provide final driver packages for most of the Discontinued Wireless adapters; look in the folder names for your module.
Hope this helps,

Sorry, I was confused earlier. I meant that it supposedly supports 5GHz networks. In the command prompt it says that 2.4GHz and 5GHz are supported, although 802.11ac doesn't appear under "Supported network types". I don't understand this contradiction.
I'll try the driver you provided anyway.

Let me just add that, presuming your system does not implement protection against self-upgrades (in its BIOS), I recommend that you upgrade this module to add support for Wireless-AC and Wireless-AX and to get better 2.4GHz performance, better Bluetooth capabilities and full 5.0GHz support. The AX210NGW module is a good choice and, as an example, I see it listed on Amazon for as low as US$24.

P.S. If you look into doing this, I recommend that you get the Intel version of the module. There are a lot of knock-offs (clones) out there that, while they do utilize the Intel silicon, are of poorer build quality.

Okay, I made a mistake buying the non-AC version.
One question: what do you mean by "protection against automatic updates (in your BIOS)"?
My laptop is a Fujitsu Lifebook A555 with an Intel i3 5005U.

I said 'protection against self-upgrades'. This involves the use of inclusion/exclusion (allow/block) lists to block folks from upgrading the module themselves. On the next power-on after a module install, the BIOS would spot the installation and block its operation. Back in the day, there were a whole raft of (slimeball) manufacturers that used this method to ensure you bought upgrades only through them. I do not know whether Fujitsu was one of the manufacturers that did this; you may only know by trying.

So that you only bought your upgrade through them, allowing them to make an additional profit off of you. As I say, a slimeball move on their part.

If you install a new module and you cannot get its drivers to install, this would be a good indication that the system's BIOS has disabled and hidden the module so you cannot use it (without having purchased it though them).
