AX211 wifi on Ubuntun 24.04 keeps disconnecti

Hi,

After upgrading to Ubuntu 24.04 my wifi keeps disconnecting when at work.

At home it works fine but when I'm at work I my bluetoothe MX Master 3 mouse and Sony headphones keeps disconnecting.

I did not have this problem in Ubuntu 22.04.

This is in a Dell Precision 5570 laptop with AX211 and the hwe kernel, upgraded today to 6.11.0-19. I was running previously with 6.8 and the same issues.

My systemd logs shows this:

mar 11 16:16:30 myhostname kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: Hardware error 0x0c
mar 11 16:16:30 myhostname kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: Retrieving Intel exception info failed (-16)

over and over again. Then blueman crashes and needs ot reload to the bluetooth is disonnected for a couple of seconds every minute or so.
Quite annoying when my bluetooth headphones and mouse have work flawlessly previously.

I'm a linux develope and can supply any needed debug info.

Hi LinuxWifiGuy,

I understand that you're having issues with the connection since your mouse and headphones keeps disconnecting. I would just like to gather more information to effectively address this concern.

1. Have you tried rolling back to the previous working OS version 22.04?

2. What driver version are you using?

3. Are there other changes to the system aside from OS version?

4. Have you checked with Ubuntu support for a possible compatibility issues?

I look forward to your response.

Best regards,

1. No, that is not a workable solution since this is my work machine. We are moving forward.

2. Since yesterday in on the ubuntu 24.04 linux-generic-hwe-20.04

 3. There are no kernel changes or firmware changes. I have of course installed the tools I need to work. This problem only appears at work so I suspect it's due to a more challenging radio environment. That should not make the driver crash though.

4. I have search everywhere for this specific error message and haven't found any exact matches.

Today I working at home and see no issues but this has been the standard the last weeks. Here I only use 1 BT mouse and wifi 6 5GHz.
At work my wifi is hard disabled and I use multiple bt devices in a open area landscape where we are have many other embedded devies with WIFI, BT and BT LE enabled.
I often starts out fine but after a couple of minutes the bluetooth starts disconnecting and reconnercting

Where do I file hardware issues with Intel drivers at Ubuntu?

Also could you help in deciphering these lines from the iwlwifi driver?

mar 11 16:16:30 myhostname kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: Hardware error 0x0c
mar 11 16:16:30 myhostname kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: Retrieving Intel exception info failed (-16)

What does the error code imply?
