BE201 random hardware address problem

I'm running into a strange Wi-Fi issue with my laptop. It has the BE201 installed and the newest driver version 23.140.0.

It will only connect to a Wi-Fi network if the "random hardware address" feature is turned ON.

What's really odd is that even if I successfully connect with the random address enabled, and then try to turn that option OFF for that specific Wi-Fi network, it won't reconnect.
It seems insistent on using a random address.

Has anyone else encountered this kind of behavior?
More importantly, does anyone know of a fix or a workaround for this?
