Bluetooth LE on Dell XPS 8950 with 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700

Hello, I thought that I did a great thing by getting a whole new system when I could not upgrade my old Windows 10 system. So now I have this supposed up-to-date deluxe system with what I thought was the best processor, until now. I have already gone through Dell support, and they have confirmed that my system does not support Bluetooth LE and that an updated driver must be released in order to get Bluetooth LE. I am asking bc I got new Philips Hearlink 9050 Hearing Aids that do not work with Classic Bluetooth and require Bluetooth LE in order to connect. I have contacted the mfr. of these hearing aids, Philips, and they say it is up to the computer mfr, not Philips. I contacted Dell who says that a driver update needs to be released, its up to the mfr, not Dell. So is it Intel? Killer? idk, where can I get a resolution for this issue? Thank you for any advice!

  • Processor:
  • 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700
  • Clock Speed:
  • 2.1Ghz
  • L2 Cache Size:12288

    • Adapter:
    • Killer E3100G 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet Controller
    • Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)

Note: I am just a regular person, not a tech guru, but if AI is so great, why can't AI solve this issue for me?

I tried Dell one more time, my particular solution is to upgrade my wifi card to a new card that supports Bluetooth LE. As there is a card available for my system to do this, I think I will keep these new aids & go from there, ty for your help!

Hello 4SKY,

Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.

For me to further check this, please help provide the following details:

  1. What is the complete model of your Dell laptop?
  2. What is your Operating system?
  3. Have you tried connecting on a different laptop?
  4. What is the specification of that other laptop?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

I guess I got my new Win11 before the LE was available? There is no option to enable LE, I need to accept that it just won't work & that sucks! I'm going to return these HAs & keep the ones that I have that DO work with my system until whoever - Intel, Windows, Dell (???) makes Bluetooth LE available for my device.

Per Windows:

Some Windows 11 devices that currently don't support LE Audio might gain support for it in the future through driver updates from the manufacturer. For additional compatibility questions about Bluetooth LE Audio, consult with the manufacturer of the Windows device and the headset or earbuds.

This is not a solution, but what other options are there?

Hello 4SKY,

I hope this message finds you well.

Upon further checking and before closing this request, let me just add.

Regarding your issue, it is best contact Microsoft for further assistance and let me inform you that Intel® Wireless and Bluetooth® Adapters support a wide range of codecs, but the operating system (OS) utilizes these codecs natively with respective peripherals, not the adapter itself. Therefore, if there are concerns or further inquiries about "codec support," we recommend reaching out to Microsoft Technical Support.

Additionally, for questions about Bluetooth LE support, you can review our Bluetooth® Profiles supported by Intel® Wireless Adapters and the Intel® Bluetooth® LE Audio Infographic.

Thank you and have a great day.
