Bluetooth disappeared after update (tried different fixes)

I have a problem somewhat similar to the issue described here on your forum.

I have an old Sony Vaio laptop, and have suddenly run into Bluetooth driver problems.
I have taken the (drastic) approach to make a recovery reinstall of Windows. And then install the latest (official) Intel Bluetooth driver for my Sony laptop (it can be found here).
That said, here are the breakdown of the issue :

- With the latest (official) Intel Bluetooth driver for my Sony laptop, I can connect to my Bluetooth headsets (I have several) - but there is no audio or voice connection.

- When I try to update the driver using Device Manager - the 'Intel (R) Wireless Bluetooth (R)' device disappears, and 'BRLINK Bluetooth 5.1 Device' appears.

- But now there is no Bluetooth on my laptop (according to Windows Bluetooth troubleshooting).

- I have tried the solution described by you here - but again, the end result is that there is no Bluetooth (according to Windows Bluetooth troubleshooting).  : (

..so some help would be wonderful
