Can I replace the AC-7260 adapter by a AC-7265 adapter in my Lenovo W540 laptop with S/N R9-07EC3C. The 7260 does not connect to all routers and is extremely slow.

You need to ask Lenovo. They have a habit of blacklisting/whitelisting adapters, so check with them.
