Cannot share VPN over Windows 11 mobile hotspot with Intel WiFi 6E AX211

TL;DR - want to share VPN connection over Windows hotspot but android and iOS devices refuses to connect

I've been wanting to share my VPN connection over Windows 11 hotspot to my Android device (shows up "cannot get IP address") and my iPhone (just refuses to connect), but it seems like my laptop can't properly set up a connection like that (We can't set up mobile hotspot right now).

I'm using hide.me with the OpenVPN protocol where my laptop has an Intel WiFi 6E AX211 chip.

From what I've read, this chip doesn't support the legacy hostednetwork property offered prior to Windows 10 (tried netsh wlan show drivers and Hosted Network Support showed up as No), and Intel suggested to share my connection with Connectify through WiFi Direct, but it can't install their filter service with my VPN.

I've also tried the method to open adapter settings and share my connection of my VPN with the Local Area Connection created by me laptop, but it still does not let my device connect properly.

What do I do in this situation? Any help? Thanks in advance

Hello xQandStuff,

Thank you for possting on Intel Community Forum.

To better address your concern, kindly share the information below.

1. Were you able to connect the Android and iPhone device using the Windows hotspot before?

2. What is the full model of the laptop

3. Is this the original adapter that came pre-installed in your system, or have you changed/installed a new adapter recently?

4. Can you see the hotspot SSID on the phone's Wi-Fi list?

Additionally, to have a better understanding of your system configuration and components please generate System Support Utility (SSU) report. Please follow instructions here and send the report - How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*

I look forward to your response.

Best regards
