Code 14: Fix your driver I already addressed the issue for you

First why you keep banning me, I can't access my account, that is why I am starting a new account every time.

I already addressed the issue causing the driver to stop code 14. And it is blocking svchost from accessing the internet. I even specify it was the network list service (netprofm) is causing the issue.

I can add that I disabled event log, and all performance monitoring.

After I posted this thread you partially fixed the issue starting the driver 23.90.0.2 (09/26/2024). After this version the wifi sometimes works even if svchost.exe is blocked from accessing the internet for a long while, but then it will stop code 14 again. sometime it will stop code 14 immediately. That is a big step, but it is not fixed.

If you are not spying on your costumers why would you require svchost.exe to access internet for intel wifi driver to work? esp that network list service collects information about the networks is send it to Microsoft, why would you want information about the wifi network I am connected to? and are you even collecting passwords?

Network list service description: "Identifies the networks to which the computer has connected, collects and stores properties for these networks, and notifies applications when these properties change". And if intel is requiring internet for this service so the wifi can work it means only you are spying on people, there is no other explanation.

And I can add that no issues with other wifi adapters, so it is not a Microsoft issue, but it is an intel issue. And it is ridiculous that I have to connect usb wifi adapter while I have a built-in wifi except it is not working cause intel can fix a simple issue. I am currently using 3 external wifi adapters in the same laptop from 3 other brands with no issues, and I even have 2 other laptops with wifi from other brands and they are working with the same configuration with no issues, it is only you.

Please fix your driver as I already told you exactly what is causing the issue.

Hello sg33,

Thank you for sharing your concerns in the Intel Communities.

I will look into this recurring issue internally, considering both your previous and current posts, as well as your feedback about your account being "blocked" and your insights on the matter. I will provide an update as soon as it is available.

Best regards,

Thank you for reply! Let me confirm few things that might help.

  • The issue is 100% due to blocking svchost.exe from accessing the internet. Allowing internet access svchost.exe via port 80 only will fix the issue.
  • It is 100% the network list service (netprofm) being blocked via port 80. No issues when blocking other ports (443,...).
  • There is no way to stop the network list service (netprofm). Stopping it will cause all networks to stop .
  • Stopping windows time service will fix the port 123 issue, so it is not that it is required, it is just if it was blocked from accessing the internet.
  • Starting driver 23.90.0.2 (09/26/2024) the issue is partially fixed. Sometimes it will work for hours without stopping code 14, but sometimes it will stop immediately and I don't know why? If I know that will help me.
  • There are no issues with other wifi adapters from other brands, even with svchost.exe is blocked from accessing the internet. It is only Intel drivers.

Hope this will help.

Hello sg33,

Thank you for sharing your findings with us. We appreciate your diligence in identifying that the issue may be related to

svchost.exe. This executable is a critical component of Windows that hosts various system services, and issues with it can sometimes affect system performance.

The svchost.exe or called "Service Host," is a Microsoft service responsible for executing various background services and overseeing critical operating system functions. These functions include managing networking, user interfaces, file operations, and Windows updates.

This service is clearly defined in the Microsoft Learn Website as a Microsoft application. Since the code 14 issue originates from this service, it would be best to raise this concern with Microsoft Support

I will now proceed in closing this thread. If you require help in the future, please submit a new inquiry, as this thread will no longer be monitored.

Sincerely,

JeanetteC.
