You should ask gigabyte what cards are compatible with their board. They would have (should have) done the testing.

Though you can insert AX201 into a standard M.2 Key E socket, contact Gigabyte to verify compatibility.

- Thank you for your update.
- And I would add that information provided on this page is not correct: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000026155/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html. The AX201 has System Interface TypeM.2: CNVio2 wich is not backwards compatible to System Interface TypeM.2: CNVio? I would like to see answer fro this.

Hi LWAKSMAN,
As my searching in few last days, That link which is meaning Intel called CNVi in general ( inclued CNVio & CNVio2 )
- About CNVio:
CNVio support 8th 9th CPUs & early + Mainboard 300 series ----> AC9560
CNVio2 support only for 10th CPUs & later + Mainboard 400 series ----> AX201
2. About System interface type:
M.2: AC9560 & AX201 use same port but depending on CPU & mainboard as upper.
PCIe: AC9260 & AX200 ( PC need PCIe1x adapter )
Hope I correct ^.^ LOL

I would like to see Intel document specifying the requirement relating cnvio2 and cnvio compatibility with CPU and Chipset (i.e your statement in 1 above). Did you see one?
