I would like to replace the Intel WiFi Link 1000 BGN adapter in my new computer (HP dv7-4083cl) with the Intel Link 5100AGN adapter in my old computer (HP dv7-2273cl) since the 5100 supports the 5 GHz band, but the 1000 doesn't. Does anyone know if the footprint of the two are compatible so that I can just remove the 5100 and screw it into the slot for the 1000? I don't want to fool around with my old computer only to find that this can't be done.
