I have an Intel NUC NUC5i5MYHE with a clean install of Windows 10 64-bit (version 1903) and I've installed an Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 7265 M.2 chip and attached the antennas. Right from the get-go, Device Manager says: This device cannot start. (Code 10) {Operation Failed}
The requested operation was unsuccessful.
The Windows Event Viewer shows the errors under System:
- Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 : The version number is incorrect for this driver.
- Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 : Could not allocate the resources necessary for operation.
I tried other solutions, downloading all the latest drivers, updated the BIOS, etc. but still nothing works. However the Bluetooth is working just fine, just not the Wi-fi. Do I have a bad chip?
