Error applying Virtual Switch Properties changes with Centrino Advanced-N 6205

I am trying to install Hyper-V Virtual Machine on an Intel Core i5, Windows 10 Pro 64bit, Lenovo laptop T430s that has come with Centrino Advanced-N 6205 Wireless Network card and driver version 15.8.1 dated 4/30/2015.

While creating the External Virtual Switch using the Hyper-V Manager, I got this error "Failed while adding virtual Ethernet switch connections. Ethernet port {......................} bind failed: Catastrophic failure (0x8000FFFF)."

I have attached a screenshot of the error.

This issue doesn't not seems to be affecting the Wireless functionality on the host machine though. Only the VM Guest OS not able to connect to the network.

Note: I then updated the driver manually (since automatic 'Update Driver' didn't find the updated driver), to 15.18.0.1 from Intel driver site. And restarted the system. The error still

remain unsolved.

Appreciate any help.

TIA.

Hello BBen,

Please keep in mind that since the primary focus of Hyper-V is server applications, it was not designed with wireless in mind. Because of this, we don't provide support for Hyper-V directly. Your main source of support with these type of issues should always be the software vendor (Microsoft*).

That being said, "not supported" does not mean "impossible". What it boils down to is that you must bridge or share your wireless with your virtual adapter. There are several ways to do this, we hope one of these guides will be helpful:
