Event log flooded with PCI Express Root Port errors after installing latest Killer performance suite

Since the last Killer performance suite update (may 11 '21), when I have the suite update installed, the event log gets flooded with around 60 WHEA-Logger events per second, keeping the CPU nice and hot. Event details are in the attachment.

Uninstalling the update and reverting to the previous version seems to resolve the issue. Tried removing device & drivers from device manager and reinstalling, but the problem then reoccurs.

Device is a Killer(R) Wireless-AC 1550 Wireless Network Adapter (9260NGW) 160MHz

Laptop is a Clevo P955er (i7-8750h dual graphics UHD630/GTX1060 6GB)

Any hints on what the root cause of this issue might be and if there is a way to keep the drivers up to date?

Hello @Tom_H

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

In order to check this further, could you please provide the following information?

1- Just to make sure, what is the exact version of the Intel® Killer Performance Suite package that you installed and triggered the issue?

2- Besides installing the Intel® Killer Performance Suite package, was there any other change like Windows®/BIOS updates or hardware changes?

3- Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to gather more details about the system.

  • Download the Intel® SSU and save the application on your computer
  • Open the application, check the "Everything" checkbox, and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. The Intel® SSU defaults to the "Summary View" on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
  • To save your scan, click Next and click Save.
  • Once you have saved the file (.txt file), please attach it to your reply.
  • To upload and attach a file, use the "Drag and drop here or browse files to attach" option below the response textbox.
