How can I find out what network driver I should have?

I just replaced a router and my backup PC running on Win 7 can not connect to the internet. I have tried all suggested solutions I found on the net, have been on tech chat a few times, all to no avail.

All other devices I have were detected by the new router, including the one not connecting. I have had many problems with Win 7 updates, some never installed no matter what I did. Also, could never get Win 10 to download.

On Device Manager, the "Other Devices" is not listed. The network driver I have is a 10.0.6.0 vers. 2 Gigabit from 2009.

Would an external network adapter work?

- Is the related to wired or wireless connectivity?

 

- What is the exact issue behavior?

 

- Intel® System Support Utility report, this will provide us with more information about your system.

2. Select to include "everything."

 

3. Name, save the report and attach it to your next reply.

This is regarding wireless connection. Worked okay before new router.

 

 

Issue: Yellow triangle shows for internet connection, says no internet access, no available networks show.

There is no wireless driver listed in device manager. The only network driver listed is an Intel 2gigabit 10.0.6.0 from 2009.

Could not do a print out of the system as the printer for that PC is currently down.

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit (6.1 Build 7600)

Model: HP Pavilion AU850AA-ABA e9290f.

Bios: Bios date 10/29/09 10:04:56 ver: 5.24

The https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01901297 system specifications don't mention the wireless adapter make and model. However, the driver downloads suggest this is an Atheros* adapter. The network driver can be found under "Driver-Original" category:

This issued was resolved with a generic $12 external Wi-Fi adapter.
