Intel 6250 wifi connection problems

I have a intel 6250 intalled on my Dell z600. I can't get a wifi connection. obviously I have downloaded the drivers and software. Is there a setting or firewall configuration needed?

First have to make sure the wifi is ON, not sure if you are referring no signal or unable to get connect to a wifi or Wimax network.

Check if there is any button or function key to press to enable the signal if there is no signal
