Hi,
I have question regarding antenna connectors on Wireless module Intel 8265NGW. There are two connectors marked 1 AUX and 2 MAIN. We want to use 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz antenna in our design. According to recomodations on web, you should plug in 5Ghz antenna to AUX and 2.4GHz antenna to MAIN connector. But after testing with our microstrip dual 5G/2.4G antenna we found out, that better results (speed, range, Bit error rate) are achieved if antennas are switched - 2G to AUX and 5G to MAIN connector.
Can you please provide information, what is difference between MAIN and AUX connectors and what is recomended configuration of antennas?
Hi vkadlc22,
We understand that you're looking for information on the antenna connectors for the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 adapter, we would like to inform you that for this adapter, the way that the antennas are designed is for the MAIN antenna to handle WiFi and the AUX is intended for WiFi + BT functionality. Now since Bluetooth signal uses the 2.4 GHz band, if the 5GHz antenna is connected to the MAIN connector, most likely there won't be any interference, therefore, better performance will be the result. Since the AUX connector is designed to handle WiFi + Bluetooth, it's normal that it shares the bandwidth with the Bluetooth component.
We hope you find this information helpful.

As In my location I can procure only the model https://mikrotik.com/product/ACSWI https://mikrotik.com/product/ACSWI
I am just wondering if that will be fine for BT and Wifi, in case I get two of them connected to the connectors of the card.
Thanks.
You need dualband antenna for 2.4GHz and 5Ghz band with MHF4 connector. Many manufacturers on market provide antennas with MHF connector, but it is bigger ant will not fit into connector on 9260 module. For example Molex or Taoglas make antennas with MHF4 connectors. You can also buy reduction from SMA to MHF4 connector and use standard wifi antenna that comes with any router.

thank you for your response.
does https://mikrotik.com/product/ACSWI https://mikrotik.com/product/ACSWI look as the dual band antenna that will fit the card in case I will procure two of them?
Thank you for your response.
It seems that connectors at the picture are of small size and it is difficult to recognize visually if they will fit the 8265 card or not.
Therefore a question to Intel: Does the 8265 have specifically uFL or MH4 connectors or it is like both way compatible?
Because, there it is stated that it has uFL.
Thanks
Andrei
