Intel Dual Band AC 3160 selectively not detecting Jio Airfiber 2.4G/5G

Hello,I will try to explain my problem as i understand it.I have a lenovo G50-80 laptop installed with Intel dual band AC3160 wireless and realtek PCIe card and windows 10 as OS..Now my intel card detects both 2.4G and 5G from wifi from my broadband(jio fiber) and all other wifi networks with same band nearby also but it does not detect 2.4G/5G frequency from my new wifi connection jio air fiber...My other HP laptop(15-da1041tu variant with windows 11) which has realtek 8723de wi fi card can detect that connection but not my lenovo laptop...When i use this airfiber wifi in my mobile and make a hotspot from it only then i can use that wifi....I am attaching intel SSU report that I have generated.....I do not have a techie bakground so can someone help me with this problem....?Thanks....

I have resolved a similar problem to this today - that's how I came across this post.

The resolution was to rollback to the 2015 (version 17.15.0.5) driver for the Intel Dual Band Wireless AC-3160 adapter.

Alternatively, you might be able to set Preferred Band in the device' properties. It can be found in the Advanced tab.

I tried  upgrading the driver as suggested by n_scott_pearson and  the solution  works...I have other similar laptops with same wifi  card..will  try your solution  too...my current  driver before upgrading  was  version 18.33.5.1....Thanks for  your reply...appreciate it...

Can you open Device Manager and check the driver version of your Intel Dual Band Wireless AC-3160 network adapter?

1. When did the issue started? Was it sudden or gradual?
2. Was the lenovo G50-80 laptop able to connect to the 2.4/5Ghz frequency before? 
3. Have you made any changes before the issue occurred? If you do, kindly please indicate if it is a software or a hardware change.
4. What is the specific model of your router? 
5. Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

For Windows 10 support and compatibility with WiFi 6-capable routers (even though this adapter supports only WiFi 5), you need driver version 18.33.17.1. This is provided in the 21.10.1 package. All subsequent package versions do not provide a driver for this adapter. All previous packages did not provide these capabilities (though some have support for Windows 10).

As the adapter is discontinued, Intel has stopped hosting these packages. I have copies of the packages that support this and other discontinued adapters in my archive. Use this link: https://1drv.ms/f/s!AtacZBU04mo-j-tQ34BdSDv6y1BFsg?e=7gn50T to access my archive. Subfolders provide final driver packages for most of the Discontinued Wireless adapters.

Thank  You  Sir....n_scott_pearson....You really made my day.....You just nailed the problem...really appreciate your effort in making these discontinued drivers available  to us....Now  my  intel  ac  3160  is detecting my  jio  airfiber wifi..thanks again...

Yea, having gone through all of the packages that Intel made available back then, it appears that this final driver release was the only one that had this compatibility fix. I think of it as being a last-gasp effort as the adapter was dropping into the Discontinued state.

Hello Sir n_scott_pearson....one more question....will this solution work for windos 11 also...in case one needs to upgrade to windows 11 in future...?

I can't guarantee it. None of my systems that have either of these modules is 'eligible' to run Windows 11 and I will not hack to support it.
