Hello,
I recently bought the Intel® Killer™ Wi-Fi 7 BE1750x for my desktop PC, as my motherboard doesnt have built in WiFi connectivity. After installing the WiFi card in the designated M2 slot on my motherboard, I observed a strange behavior, as the connection to the internet seems to be working for some connections and for others they seem to be blocked.
Example:
- google.com works
- fritz.box works
- reddit.com does not work
My hardware specifications:
- Motherboard: ASRock B660 Steel Legend
- CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400F
- OS: Windows 11 Pro
- Installed driver as checked by Intel® Driver & Support Assistant: 23.90.0.2
- Router: FRITZ!Box 7530 AX
The networks adapter is recognized as a valid device, as it is listed in the device manager. When opening the properties of the device and then the Events tab the most recent message is:
Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_272B&SUBSYS_17741A56&REV_1A\4&cccf150&0&00E3 had a problem starting. and Device not started (Netwaw16)
Running the Intel System Support Utility, the device is also not listed under network adapters.
Despite that, a connection to the router is possible and switching networks also works.
And the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant does recognize the device and lists the drivers as "Up to date".
I tried changing networks and used my phone as a personal hotspot to connect to. While connected to my phone, I didnt experience any issues. All websites were available and reachable.
I also have a laptop with an Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 adapter, which I connected to the same network as my PC. No issues there either. All websites are reachable for my Laptop.
Solution attempts I have tried without result:
- reinstalling Bluetooth and WiFi drivers manually
- uninstalling device via the device manager and reinstalling it
- resetting router to factory settings
- uninstalling Intel performance suite
- buy replacement WiFi card, under suspicion that the first one was broken
- trying the solution from another community post: Solved: wifi connection problem - Intel Community
- set the router channels to manual and set 2.4GHz to channel 11 and 5GHz to 48
I don't understand where the issues might be or how to solve them. I have used up all the solution attemps I can think of or find online. Can you help?

Hello Pallemann,
I understand that you are having issues with your Wi-Fi card as it blocks certain connections. You mentioned that your motherboard does not have a built in Wi-Fi connectivity and you just purchased the Intel® Killer™ Wi-Fi 7 BE1750x to be able to use Wi-Fi with the desktop.
I would like to inform you that before installation or use of Intel® Wireless Adapter on your system, you will need to get in touch with your board manufacturer first for compatibility issues or dependencies. An Intel® Wireless Adapter installed in a system that is being sold on the market doesn't necessarily mean that same wireless adapter can be used or installed in any other systems.
Please contact your board manufacturer about the issue that you are encountering and get their advice on what steps can you take.
For reference: Regulatory Information Regarding Wireless Hardware Installation or Upgrade
Should you have other questions or concerns, please let me know so I can help you with it.
Best regards,
