Hi,
I'm currently testing v12.4.0.0 of the Intel wireless software and comparing it to Windows WZC. Our wireless network uses WPA2 with PEAP-MSCHAPv2 for authentication. The RADIUS server is a Juniper IC unit coupled to Windows Active Directory. The WiFi chipset is a 3945ABG.
With the WZC, the client can authenticate to the network using the machine account when no-one is logged in. With the Intel software, I can configure a persistent profile with PEAP-MSCHAPv2 and select 'Use secured password' as User Credentials. When no-one is logged in, the client tries to authenticate but fails. Following appears in the Juniper logs:
Info AUT23457 2009-06-16 15:31:19 - juniuac2 - [0.0.0.0] INFO\inf193$(Windows AD realm)[] - Login failed using auth server Windows AD (Samba). Reason: Failed
Info AUT24327 2009-06-16 15:31:19 - juniuac2 - [0.0.0.0] INFO\inf193$(Windows AD realm)[] - Primary authentication failed for INFO\inf193$/Windows AD from 00-1F-3C-33-81-5E
Compare that to Windows WZC:
Info AUT24414 2009-06-16 14:01:45 - juniuac2 - [127.0.0.1] System()[] - Agent login succeeded for INFO\inf193$/Windows AD realm from 00-1F-3C-33-81-5E.
Any ideas why it isn't working? What is the 'secured password' exactly? I couldn't find any information in the Intel documentation.
Thanks in advance,
Steven
