We are trying to deploy a new wireless profile using TLS and Machine Certificates settings. However, our users cannot import these profiles without running the Intel Proset apps as an administrator. The apps will hang in the process. Dropping the exported profile into the AutoImport also failed. The autoimport log stated that "this settings is only available to administrators......" Had anyone ran into this problem? Thanks
Thanks for posting.
This is a question that should be directed towards https://support.microsoft.com/en-us Microsoft* support, as certificates are managed by the operating system, not the Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software.
You can create and import a wireless profiles using https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000007257/network-and-i-o/wireless-networki... Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software, However, the certificate should be added afterwards on the operating system.
We noticed you have a ticket in progress with our technical support for this subject. Please wait for their recommendations as well.
Thanks but I am already doing create and import profiles with the Proset wireless. All other profiles are imported fine except for our new one. The only difference is the new one use the option "Use this machine's certificate" in the settings. It will only import if we right click the apps, run as administrator, and then import.
We're writing just to update update this thread with the answer provided by our technical team regarding this scenario.
As explained by technical support, importing WPA2-Enterprise EAP-TLS/PEAP is not supported by Intel PROSet/Wireless. Our best recommendation will be to create, import, and configure the profiles using the methods provided by Microsoft*.
