Ultrabook Samsung NP530U3C with Windows 8 x64 and Samsung smartphone Galaxy S3 with Jelly Bean.

Windows sees the smartphone, finds and set up the driver. GT-I9300 (Galaxy's code name ) is appears in the list of BT devices and Device Manager. GT-I9300 appears in the Metro Control Panel (PC Settings) also. Windows exchange authorization codes with Galaxy. Progress bar start moving just as if the connection is established, but do not pass a quarter of the way and stops and message is appear "GT-I9300 Offline".

Attempts to transfer files from Galaxy to a computer via Bluetooth Device -> Recive File to nothing lead naturally.

I found out that the driver is installed ver. 15.5.6.48 4/10/2012 for Intel (R) Centrino (R) Advanced-N 6235 while on a page http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Wireless+Networking&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+Centrino%C2%AE+Wi-Fi+Products&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Centrino%C2%AE+Advanced-N+6235&ProdId=3502&LineId=1784&FamilyId=1783&OSVersion=Windows+8%2c+64-bit* http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Wireless+Networking&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+Centrino%C2%AE+Wi-Fi+Products&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Centrino%C2%AE+Advanced-N+6235&ProdId=3502&LineId=1784&FamilyId=1783&OSVersion=Windows+8%2c+64-bit*

there is a newer version of 10/26/2012 15. 5. 6

But when I downloaded driver setup file wireless_15.5.6_De64.exe from page

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3502&DwnldID=21999&ProductFamily=Wireless+Networking&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+Centrino%C2%AE+Wi-Fi+Products&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Centrino%C2%AE+Advanced-N+6235&DownloadType=Software+Applications&OSFullname=Windows+8%2c+64-bit*&lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3502&DwnldID=21999&ProductFamily=Wireless+Networking&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+Centrino%C2%AE+Wi-Fi+Products&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Centrino%C2%AE+Advanced-N+6235&DownloadType=Software+Applications&OSFullname=Windows+8%2c+64-bit*&lang=eng

and tried to run the installation with Admin's rights - nothing happens. Just a blue square with a moving circle of green balls in the center and after few seconds it disappears, but the version of the driver is not changed and remains the same and the problem not resolved

What is wrong?

At the same time BT Mouse Logitech M555b works well with NP530U3C and smartphone works fine with Windows 7 desktop via BT dongle Bluetake BT007SX

Hi smarty,

Please note that the information you have provided indicates to be a specific problem between your laptop and your Smartphone both from the same OEM; and as you have problems installing our generic driver please keep in mind that Intel always recommends that you check with your computer manufacturer and use their latest drivers. Your computer manufacturer may have altered the features, incorporated customizations, or made other changes in the drivers they provide for your computer. To avoid any potential installation incompatibilities on your computer, Intel recommends contacting your computer manufacturer for support, as they are familiar with the total configuration of your integrated system and the way all the features interact with each other as well as drivers support.

Uninstall Intel BT drivers (on Program & Features, it would read Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth(R) Technology) and reboot. Now, the native stack from MS will be active.

Repair your S3 with your ultrabook.

Attempt to send a file from Ultrabook to the S3 or send a file (dont forget to right click on BT icon on systray and choose Receive file option) from S3 to Ultrabook. See what happens.

See if any failures in both cases (send from ultrabook or from S3 to PC). If no failures, then there could be interoperaability issue between S3 and Intel BT stack.

Hi Kumar. I realized futility of communication with Intel's specialists after Mark's response and that's what I did exactly. I left intact native MS BT stack, and all the problems with file transfer in both directions solved now . But I'm afraid that some BT profiles that was available in Intel BT stack are missing now.

Although all profiles are available at a glance, except Intel (R) Centrino (R) Wireless (R) Bluetooth (R) 4.0 + High Speed Adapter. How will this affect the performance of bluetooth tasks?

You will be missing two major features if Intel BT stack is not installer. One is Highspeed and another one is Low Energy. Highspeed support is useful only if you have devices (including laptops with Intel or Broadcom stack) that support it. Most devices (except laptops with Intel/Broadcom stack) don't. Highspeed uses WiFi radio for communication. Similar to WiFi Direct.

You will not be missing any of these features if your usage involves HID and audio profiles only.
