Like many others, I am getting frequent intermittent errors when using my 5 GHz wifi, on my Gigabyte laptop:
Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MHz : Has determined that the network adapter is not functioning properly.
Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MHz : Has encountered an internal error and has failed.
Error in event viewer:

- These problems only started after I updated my laptop to Windows 11. Everything was fine on Windows 10.
- 2.4 Ghz WiFi connections are OK.
- Windows says I am connected to the WiFi, but says "No internet access".
I have done a clean installation of the wireless driver - removed the device and then reinstalled intel wireless driver 23.120.0.3, but the problem persists.
Other things I have tried, to no avail:
- Reset my network in Windows.
- Set Random Hardware Addresses to On in the Windows WiFi settings.

Hi Mike, thanks for replying.
It's a Gigabyte AX200NGW (GIGABYTE G5 KC) laptop.
I downloaded the driver from https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19351/intel-wireless-wi-fi-drivers-for-windows-10-and-windows-11.html
There are no errors in Device Manager on "Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MHz".

I did that, and so far, so good. I'll test over a day or two and see if it maintains an internet connection on 5 GHz.

Last night, it lost internet connection again when I moved my laptop to a room further from my modem, where I normally work. This room was always fine on 5 GHz in Windows 10. Either Windows 11 has a bug, or the Intel driver doesn't like something in Windows 11.
Also, every other wireless device works perfectly fine on 5GHz in the same room.

Hello WalMast,
Thank you for the update.
Let ask for the following details:
Are you still having connections issues?
Did you also check if there is no other object that between the laptop and the router?
How about the speed of the wifi?
If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.
Best regards,
Michael L.

Yep, 5 GHz still says "No internet". Location and speed is irrelevant (yes, there are objects between laptop and router, speed is fast, 250 Mbps download), because the real issue is that it used to work on Windows 10, no longer works on Windows 11. Something about this driver on Windows 11 is not playing nicely. As I write this, I have two other devices happily on 5 GHz wifi in this same room. Only the Windows 11 laptop says "No internet" on 5 GHz.

Thank you for the update.
Kindly check if the link below is the support for your laptop.
If yes, kindly download and install the latest driver from that website so that we can isolate if this is a driver issue.

I tried that Gigabyte driver (it's just an older Intel driver). Problem persisted. So I went back to the latest Intel driver. Problem's still there.
I'm about to give up, blame Windows 11, and shake my fist at the continued en**bleep**tification of most IT related things.

Hello WalMast,
Thank you for the update,
By the way, let me also check. Have you tried contacting Gigabyte regarding this issue?
If the system was working fine with Windows 10, there is a possibility that there is a compatibility issue here. I know that the Wireless controller is from Intel, However OEM laptop manufacturers can alter, modify or enhanced these controllers and the system is controlled by their BIOS. We can only provide generic drivers, however if there is a modification in the controller, those changes are unknown to us.
If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.
Best regards,
Michael L.
