Hello, I have spent more than 20 hours on the phone with Dell as well as having 2 motherboards replaced for my new Dell XPS 9520 laptop and they have been unable to resolve my wifi speed issue. Dell blames my Google Mesh Wifi which gets me greater than 100mbps download AND upload on a 7 year old Dell Laptop I have as well as my 4 year old Ipad. These connect via 5g.
The new Dell has the 6e capability but connects via my 5g router and typically gets only 6-10 mpbs download and .36 mbps upload speeds. I have taken that laptop and my 7 year old laptop to Starbucks and other retail locations and the much older model gets significantly better wifi in those locations as well.
Dell has tried updating drivers, replacing motherboards, switching device settings, re-installing Windows 11 and the operating system. Now they just give up and send me the same model as a replacement. I am on my 3rd brand new Dell XPS 9520 laptop and they all work exactly the same.
Have others had this issue with this Dell configuration and the Intel wireless card I listed in the subject heading?
Please help!

Before your initial response to my question, Dell and I decided to part as friends. I had already returned their laptop and received a refund so I never got to try out your suggestion. I appreciate you answering my query though. I can't be the only one who couldn't get the brand new laptop's wifi working past a crawl with Google mesh.

Well, I have Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6E AX211 160MHz card on my new Dell XPS 9520 and still get horrible Wifi speeds. It sucks!
Afer starting my computer It's ok, but then after in bteween a few minutes of maybe two days internet speed drops downs, while my old laptops show still pefect internet speed. As there is a lot discussion online it I tried the following:
- Try different browsers
- Turn off metered connections
- Restart Wi-Fi network adapter
- Run the troubleshooter
- Check back-ground apps bandwidth consumption
- Limit W-update download speed
- Reset the network adapter (Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6E AX211 160MHz)
- Change DNS Server:
- W+R: NCPA.CPL
- Change Internet Protokoll Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties
- Use the following DNS server
- 8.8.8.8
- 8.8.4.4
- Use the following DNS server
- Change Internet Protokoll Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties
- W+R: NCPA.CPL
- Reset Network Settings: (well it requires restart, which solve the issue for some time)
- Disabled 3 Killer apps (Killer Analytics …, …)
- Changed my antivirus software
- Ensure no VPN is running
- In the command promted:
- flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.
- ipconfig /flushdns
- reset the Winsock Catalog.
- netsh winsock reset
- Uninstalled:
- Killer Performance Driver Suite UWD
- Killer Intelligence Center
- Ensure the lid is open
- Don’t have smartbyte installed
- Uninstalled and reinstalled network adapter: It’s working since for some time, but then …

Without diving into the topic the Dell callcenter support quickly suggested to refresch my W11, which is ... just after setting up you new computer ...
As the issue seems to be common, I wonder if there is any other suggestions for quicker fix?

Well after going through all the suggestions mentioned above, I reinstalled my W11, flashed the BIOS, got my motherboard replaced and still ... the wifi speed is dropping randomly to levels beyond usability.
I continuously run speed tests to take record of it, see the attached image how bad it can get while other laptops work just fine.
What's next? May try to replace the Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6E AX211 160MHz card with some other model?
Any suggestions?
