Intel WiFi BE201 doesn't detect 6GHz networks

Just got a new laptop with the intel wifi and it doesn't detect 6GHz networks, I have tried 2 different devices (router and making a hotspot with my tablet) and in case of the router, if i set it to 6GHz, the network disappears completely, while the tablet hotspot connects on 5GHz band instead.

However, the tablet can see the 6GHz wifi network from my router so I'm guessing there's an issue with the intel wifi thingy?

I have checked in device manager and the setting for 6GHz appears to be enabled, I have updated the drivers as well. Please help.

Hello Eyymily,

Thank you for posting on Intel Community Forum.

Just to set the proper expectations, please be informed that product you are reporting is an OEM original equipment manufacturer device. Kindly take into consideration that our support may be limited since we are not familiar with the technology, settings and customizations that the OEM has designed on your system, However I will do my best to assist you with your concern.

To effectively address your concern, kindly share the information below.

1. What is the full model of the laptop?

2. Is this the original adapter that came pre-installed in your system, or have you changed/installed a new adapter recently?

3. Have you checked if 6GHz is legally available in your area? (Some regions haven't approved 6GHz for consumer use)

4. Have you rebooted your access-point, router, modem?

Additionally, to have a better understanding of your system configuration and components please generate a complete copy of the System Support Utility (SSU) report. Please follow instructions here and send the report - How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*

I look forward to your response.

Best regards

Hi,

1. Asus Vivobook S16 (model with core ultra 7 255h)
2. This is the original wifi adapter that was installed (I have never opened the laptop or changed any hardware)
3. Yes, it should be available (I'm located in Poland, from what I've gathered it should be available here)
4. Yes, multiple times now

SSU report attached.

Same for me.
I also opened thread: link .

I'm also in Europe (where the 6 GHz band legal) and the 6 GHz band is disabled, and Intel doesn't tell me why.

Intel use an unclear system called Dynamic Regulatory Solution / Location Aware Regulatory to detect your location and disable the band.

Hello Eyymily,

Thank you for sharing all this information.

To further troubleshoot the issue, kindly follow the outlined steps below.

1. Update BIOS to the latest version 318

2. Try the generic driver from Intel - version 23.160.0

If the issue continuous to persist, may I know if you're using VPN?

I look forward to your response.
