Important info, the indonesian regulator has allowed 6 ghz frequency since february 2025

How do I make my AX210 card allow this new frequency in Indonesia?

I have updated the new driver to version 23.150.0.4, but still can't catch 6 ghz.

I'm Using Windows 10

Hello AliSabrian,

Thank you for sharing this information.

While Indonesia has approved the use of the 6GHz frequency band, there are additional factors that must be considered to ensure a successful connection to this frequency.

Requirements to enable the 6 GHz band:

  • Ensure your system is running on Microsoft Windows 11*, including the latest updates available from Microsoft.
  • Use the latest Wi-Fi drivers for Intel® Wireless adapters:
    • Intel® Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) products: version 22.70.0 or later
    • Intel® Wi-Fi 7 products: version 23.10.0 or later
  • Requirements:
    • A Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 compatible router is required to access the 6 GHz band.
    • A Wi-Fi 7 compatible router and the Windows 11 24H2 (or later) OS are required to enable Wi-Fi 7 functionality.

As you are currently using Windows 10, please proceed with updating your system to Windows 11 version 24H2 or later, and verify if the issue persists after the update.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Because migrating to Windows 11 takes quite a bit of time,

I tried moving this AX210 card to another laptop that already had Windows 11 installed.

on Asus Expertbook L1400CD and on Lenovo V14 G2 ITL

try installing new drivers, and still cannot see 6 Ghz Freq

Hello AliSabrian,

Thank you for your continued efforts in troubleshooting the issue.

Please be advised that prior to installing or replacing an Intel® Wireless Adapter in any system, it is essential to consult the system manufacturer to confirm whether the specific adapter is approved for use in your system and region. This step ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and system compatibility.

It is also important to note that the adapter may not function as expected due to potential hardware or software compatibility limitations or dependencies.

With this in mind, we recommend using the pre-installed wireless card on the laptop and following the appropriate guidelines to enable 6GHz functionality. Should the issue persist after these steps, please do not hesitate to inform us so we can assist you further.

the adapter was detected on windows device manager, and successfully installing new version of driver, indicates the adapter is working properly, because i can use 2,4 and 5 ghz without problem, i think intel engineer has no option to update new region restriction regulation, because the rules are permanently implanted and locked to chip, without option to write an update.

So my conclusion is that the 6 ghz option on my card is useless as it cannot be used until I replace it with a newer card with the latest regulatory updates.

I have wasted my money

Hello AliSabrian,

Upon reviewing the official documentation for the Dell Latitude 5310, it is noted that the supported wireless frequency bands are 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The manual further specifies that the compatible wireless cards for this model are the Intel AX201 and Qualcomm QCA61x4A (DW1820). However, the issue being reported pertains to the Wi-Fi 6E AX210 card, which is not listed among the supported components in the documentation.

Could you please inform us whether the wireless card on your DELL Latitude 5310 is the preinstalled version or if you have replaced it?

As your guide, you can check this link for the DELL Latitude 5310 manual: https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/latitude-13-5310-laptop/latitude_5310_ss/processors?guid=guid-e0affcc6-b41b-4d63-9318-51f60f77668c&lang=en-us

Additionally, to have a better understanding of your system configuration and components please generate System Support Utility (SSU) report. Please follow instructions here and send the report - How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*

I look forward to your response.

Thank you for your response. The original wifi card on this Dell 5310 is an Intel AX201, which I replaced to upgrade its connectivity capabilities. I have experience with several types of HP Laptops with Wifi Card restrictions, where the card causes the system to issue a notification during boot up, and there are even certain types of HP laptops that refuse to boot up if an incompatible wifi card is installed. Meanwhile, on my Dell 5310, this card does not cause the BIOS to issue any notification, it can be detected perfectly in the device manager, and I can connect to the wifi at 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz frequencies, except 6 Ghz , my question is, is it true that the manufacturer (Dell) can limit features even though the device is successfully detected and can be used normally? even though I use the official wifi driver from Intel, not from Dell

Hello AliSabrian,

I understand that you have prior experience with various HP laptop models where the Wi-Fi card tends to cause issues following installation. Given that the Wi-Fi card in the Dell 5310 has also been upgraded, it is important to note that while the card may be detected by the system, it might not function as expected due to potential hardware or software compatibility issues, or unresolved driver dependencies.

Additionally, please be aware that Dell, as the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), may impose certain limitations on system features. These limitations are often tied to post-approval requirements that must be followed when installing or replacing components such as the Intel® Wireless Adapter. Failure to adhere to these manufacturer-specific guidelines may result in reduced functionality or system instability.

For optimal performance and to avoid compatibility issues, it is recommended to consult Dell’s official documentation or support resources before making hardware modifications.
