Intel Wireless Bluetooth has stopped working

Hi, am new here so don't know if this is in the right place

I have a Lenovo laptop running Windows 8.1 and have the following message in my action centre: Intel Wireless Bluetooth has stopped working 1 time(s), last occurring on 10/11/2014 10:02. Your PC might be missing updates that can help improve its stability and security. When I go into view message it tells me it cannot download it and to try again later.

I have been into my device manager and it tells me my bluetooth is working correctly but when I try to connect to it it can't be found.

Can anybody help me with what might be the problem and how to resolve it.

Many thanks.

I recommend you uninstalling and reinstalling the software and keeping Windows* 8.1 up to date.

It might be helpful to know the wireless adapter model.

Thank you for your reply. I will attempt to do that this evening. Stupid question - Do I just right click and uninstall and will it install them automatically once I have done this. Words of one syllable and aimed at numptys would be greatly appreciated

On my device manager it says I have the following:

Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator

Microsoft Bluetooth LE Enumerator

Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0 + HS

When I go into them it tells me they are all working properly.

So, the error message you are getting is probably expected to happen since the Bluetooth* adapter is not an Intel one, it is the Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0 + HS.

I suggest uninstalling the Intel PROSet Wireless Software for Bluetooth* from Programs and Features as listed in the picture from this article: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-034640.htm Intel® Wi-Fi Products — Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth® Support and Features by Version

Then, you can continue using the Bluetooth technology with the software designed for the Qualcomm* Atheros adapter.
