Intel Wireless-N 7260 encryption

Hi.

I recently changed phones to a Samsung Galaxy S7 from a S5. I had the Hotspot set up on the S5 and regularly used it to connect from my laptop as i was visiting customers. Now however, unless I set the Hotspot as Open, I can't connect. The encryption on the S7 is WPA2 PSK. Is that not compatible with the Intel wireless-N 7260?? I use a Lenovo Thinkpad L540 with Windows 10 Pro. Drivers for the card are updated.

The Intel® Wireless-N 7260 is a client and will obey the connection protocol according to the hotspot. Did you try to connect your computer to different hotspots and see the same thing happens? it is recommended to check if the wireless adapter has the latest drivers installed.

 

 

If the adapter is installed by factory, we recommend to contact Lenovo* and obtain the latest drivers from them first. Through this link: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/OEMs.html Computer Manufacturer Support Websites you may find your computer manufacturer contact information.

 

 

As a second option, you are welcome to try our generic drivers if you notice that the situation still persist after you used the drivers from Lenovo* Support page. *It is important to download the drivers according to your OS architecture (32 or 64 Bit).

Method 1: Run the Internet Connection troubleshooter:

 

 

Step1: You may try running the Internet Connection troubleshooter which can help you fix the problems with internet connection.

 

1. Press the Windows Key on the Keyboard.

 

2. Type Troubleshooting and select Troubleshooting.

 

3. Click on View all (on the left)

 

4. Select Internet connections.

 

5. Click on Next to run the troubleshooter.

 

 

Step 2:

 

1. Press the Windows Key on the Keyboard.

4. Click on Network Adapter.
