System:

  • Dell XPS 13 9300 laptop
  • Windows 10 Pro 21H1 19043.1566
  • Killer AX1650s wireless module
  • Latest Windows update, OEM driver (22.100.0.3) and BIOS

Sometimes after an hour or more of not using a Bluetooth device, Bluetooth stops working and becomes hidden in Device Manager.  The Bluetooth driver status (shown below) says: Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer (Code 45).  Only happens when Bluetooth devices have been idle for an hour or more, and only happens about once a week.  Has been happening for months and was happening multiple times a day with driver 22.70.0.3.  Bluetooth services are still running.

Not fixed by selecting Scan for hardware changes in Device Manager.

Not permanently fixed by disabling and enabling Bluetooth in BIOS setup, then uninstalling Bluetooth driver and Scanning for hardware changes to reinstall it.

Only temporarily fixed by restarting Windows.
