Hello hammerrada,

Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.

For your safety, only download drivers from:

To help check on this, please provide the following:

1) Based on the information you shared, please confirm that the flagged driver was downloaded from this link.

  • If this is correct, Norton's malware detection is likely a false positive. Since legitimate drivers from official pages typically don't contain malware, I recommend contacting Norton support to report this incorrect detection and get clarification on the alert.

2) Are you having wireless problems the reason why did you need this application? If yes, briefly discuss the issue you're having with so I can help further.

3) Please also share your system configuration so I can check and provide you with an accurate fix. Kindly download the Intel® System Support Utility (SSU.exe)

  • Check "Everything"
  • Click "Scan" then "Next"
  • Click "Save" and attach the file here

Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,

JeanetteC.

Hello hammerrada,

Thank you for the update! I'm glad to hear that the Intel Driver & Support Assistant successfully installed a clean driver update on September 30th. This validates that the previous Norton detection was indeed a false positive.

Since the issue has been resolved, I'll close this thread now. If you encounter any future driver or system issues, please feel free to create a new post in Intel Communities.

Thank you for using Intel Communities!

Sincerely,

JeanetteC.
